As a company whose values are rooted in kids and family, we make sure to embrace the children and family in our own lives. This past weekend, MCG hosted its first annual family picnic. Held in Central Park, the picnic was filled with an over-abundance of BBQ food and homemade desserts, friendly competition, and unexpected sunshine (you never know with these NYC forecasts). MCG employees came from New Jersey, Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens with friends, loved ones, and even pets for the picnic.

Spending some time together, out of the office, with our loved ones, was refreshing. It reminded me that, while MCG is a family in and of itself, we wouldn’t be able to do the work we do without the love and support of our own family members. It also taught me that Ladder Toss is an underrated game that attracts a number of curious onlookers. Despite the drum circle happening nearby and a big 30^th birthday party right next to us, the only thing that stopped passersby was a game of Ladder Toss. Who knew!

After the whirlwind winter we had cooped up in the MCG loft, some time outside was much needed. We at MCG have been keeping ourselves busy with report writing, research fielding, and project development. Kicking off our shoes in the open space of Central Park came at the perfect time. Now that the summer months are upon us, I highly recommend setting up at your local park to breath in some fresh air and remind yourself why running around in the grass can be so much fun!
